What’s In It?

With Linux Format, it updates you on the latest news, reviews on the latest distro and software, and teaches you numerous subjects through its tutorials. It also interview on the well-known people in the Linux world to talk about the latest technologies. Each Linux Format also bundles a DVD disc that contains newly released distro and the hottest software so you don’t have to download them yourself.

The Good

One reason I prefer Linux Format is that it seems to have less advertisements in it comparing to the others. Also, its articles are written in a way that they are easy to understand. Sometimes when I read the other Linux magazines, I find it harder to digest the information in them.

The Bad

The only problem I have with Linux Format is its price. Because it is a UK magazine, the price converted to Canadian dollar (yes, I live in Canada) is quite expensive comparing to the magazines from the US. Each Linux Format is selling for over $20 CAD each at Chapters. For some special issues, they are over $30 CAD each. However, you can subscribe for 1 year (13 issues) and it will be roughly $15 CAD each.
